Laser Nd:YAG Vein Removal

What Is Nd:YAG Laser Vein Removal?

Nd:YAG laser vein removal is an advanced, non-invasive treatment designed to safely eliminate visible veins, broken capillaries, and vascular lesions on the face and body.

This technology uses a 1064 nm wavelength laser, which allows deeper penetration into the skin compared to many other lasers—making it highly effective for both superficial and deeper veins.

How the Technology Works The Nd:YAG laser targets hemoglobin (the pigment in blood) inside unwanted veins. Here’s what happens during treatment: Laser energy is delivered into the vein The energy is absorbed by the blood inside the vessel This converts into heat, causing the blood to coagulate The vessel walls collapse and seal shut The body naturally reabsorbs the treated vein over time This process safely removes the visible vein while leaving surrounding skin unaffected.   Blood flow is then redirected to healthier veins deeper in the skin.   Why Nd:YAG Is So Effective The 1064 nm wavelength has unique advantages: Deep penetration – treats deeper and thicker vessels Selective targeting – focuses on blood vessels, not skin Safe for most skin types, including darker tones Can treat vessels up to ~3 mm in diameter  Because of these properties, Nd:YAG is widely considered one of the most versatile lasers for vascular treatments.   What Can Be Treated? Face: Broken capillaries (nose, cheeks) Spider veins (telangiectasia) Redness and rosacea-related vessels Body: Leg veins (blue or purple veins) Small varicose veins Vascular lesions Nd:YAG lasers are commonly used in aesthetic medicine specifically for vascular conditions like spider veins and facial veins.  Treatment Experience Treatment time: 15–30 minutes Sensation: Warm snapping or tingling Downtime: Minimal to none Anesthesia: Usually not required Some vessels may disappear immediately, while others gradually fade over 1–4 weeks.  How Many Treatments Are Needed? Small facial vessels: 1–2 sessions Larger or deeper veins: 2–4 sessions Treatments are typically spaced 4–6 weeks apart.
