What’s is acne and how to help you with it?

What is acne?

Acne Vulgaris is a sebaceous gland disorder, that results in plugged pores and outbreaks of lesions (“zits, spots, pimples”).

Acne appears usually on the face, neck, back and shoulders.

One of the most common skin disorder:

- 85% of the population between the age 12-24 develop some level of acne.

Has a prominent social impact:

- a serious toll on self esteem, relationships and careers.

Severe acne may result in disfiguring and permanent scarring.

How is acne formed?

Hyper-keratanization - excess shedding of skin cells into the hair shaft;

Over production of sebum;

Plug over the pore;

Oxygen-free environment;

Propionibacterium becomes active (inflammation);

Inflammation breaks through the follicle walls and causes lesions on the skin’s surface.

Two types of acne:

Non-inflammatory:

closed comedon (Whitehead) stays under the skin, appears as whitish bump on skin;

Open comedon (Blackhead) reaches the skin and opens up.

Black discoloration - because of exposed keratin oxygen.

Inflammatory:

papules - small inflamed lesions which are pink and tender to the touch;

Pustules (pimple or zits) - inflamed, puss-filled lesions.

Nodules - large, painful solid lesions deep within the skin;

Cysts - deep, inflamed, puss-filled lesions that can cause pain and scarring.

The key to fighting acne!

Porphyria - as part of their metabolism process, P.acne bacteria secrete molecules - called Porphyrin - chromosphere, which is sensitive to blue light of the IPL laser.

When acne bacteria grows in its active stage, it produces a chemical reaction. The chemical reaction causes a change producing, reactive oxygen, which makes holes in the membrane of the bacteria, killing it and enriches the environment with oxygen. Acne will go from a pathogenic stage (violent state) to a stable stage (natural flora) after this phase.

Treat the acne!

V-IPL Laser Acne clearance is indicated for all types of Acne.

The intervals between treatments influenced by treatment area (can be from every 2 to 4 weeks).

V-IPL Acne clearance is based on chemical reaction.

The maintenance of Acne clearance is every 3-6 months.
